Year Wrap-Up:

Well, it has been a while since we posted on here. At the moment, we are preparing for the Christmas season. Each year seems to fly by faster than the previous. This has been full of change for our whole family.

This summer was filled with adjusting to our new city life in Atlanta Georgia. We’d unpack and organize, shop for a few items to fill the bare walls and empty shelves. Then we’d find more boxes to unpack and organize. Then we started the hunt for basement library book shelves and porch furniture. Then we’d find even more boxes. Finally, after 9 months since our move from Dickson TN to Atlanta GA, boxes have stopped showing up throughout the house. Our house in Sandy Springs finally has the Wallen flair and feels like home. Who would have thought that the Wallen family would feel at home in a neighborhood outside one of the largest cities in America after living in the country for 13 years?

Soon we will be posting our yearly newsletter and you will be able to read a more detailed version of the past year.

November 27, 2023     Hello friends and family!  We pray your family is well and that your year was filled with happy memorable events.  We have had a truly blessed year.  Visiting the lake house is the highlight of our life now, especially in the summer when the children and grandchildren come to visit.  The house is mostly finished; just a few odds and ends remain undone.  It truly is an idyllic place to reflect on the magnificence of God's creation.    Tom is still working as a healthcare architect and travels around the country a bit.  This fall, he and I enjoyed visiting Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula to view the breathtaking autumn colors.  We hope to make it a yearly practice.    Jade graduated high school in May, which marked an end to my 40 years as a homeschool mom.  I

12-1-2022 Then the glory  of the LORD  will be revealed ,  And all  flesh  will see  it together ; For the mouth  of the LORD  has spoken .”   Isaiah 40:5 Dec. 1, 2022   Dear Friends and Family,                As I look over my Christmas address list at all of your names, your beautiful faces come to mind and I thank God for the special times we have had together in the past.  Remembering how God related to Adam and Eve in the garden each evening, I think He loves it when we relate to each other in love and kindness.  So, here I go, relating to you about another year in the Wallen family. Our lake house in Alpena, MI, is almost finished.  We enjoyed a wonderful summer there with some of our children and grandchildren. 12-03-2021 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel," which translated means,  "God With Us."   Matthew 1:23 Lake house, 12-13-2021 Dear Friends and Family,  We pray that you and your families are enjoying a blessed holiday season.  It has been an interesting and unusual year for many of us.  Aren’t you glad that our awesome God remains constant and steadfast, no matter the circumstances?  Nothing surprises Him or causes Him anxiety.  We can experience complete and perfect peace since He holds us in the palm of His hand.  One of His names is Emanuel, which means “God with us.”  Indeed, He is always with us!  Though Jade’s schooling keeps me busy, I steal every chance I can to weave on my floor looms, weave baskets, or make soap.  I enjoy keeping ancient traditions alive and demonstrating for my grandchildren that things did not always come from Walmart or Amazon.  In addition to his regul
