Florida Vacation, 2009

Once again, we are enjoying the hospitality of Fernando and Jackie Diaz, Roberto's brother and sister-in-law, in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Rose and Michael were able to join us as well as Katie, Roberto and Celeste. We miss Tony and Rachel, but they were not able to get away.
Nine of us drove down in the van, but we took two days for the trip. It was just a bit crowded, but fun nonetheless.
The weather is exceptional, sunny but not too hot. The first few days were part of the Memorial Day weekend, so the beach was crowded. But the rest of the week should give us more room on the beach. Tom, David, Christian, Micah and Bekah went out on a full day fishing trip today, so I'll post the fish photos later. Below are some photos of our beach visits.

November 27, 2023     Hello friends and family!  We pray your family is well and that your year was filled with happy memorable events.  We have had a truly blessed year.  Visiting the lake house is the highlight of our life now, especially in the summer when the children and grandchildren come to visit.  The house is mostly finished; just a few odds and ends remain undone.  It truly is an idyllic place to reflect on the magnificence of God's creation.    Tom is still working as a healthcare architect and travels around the country a bit.  This fall, he and I enjoyed visiting Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula to view the breathtaking autumn colors.  We hope to make it a yearly practice.    Jade graduated high school in May, which marked an end to my 40 years as a homeschool mom.  I

12-1-2022 Then the glory  of the LORD  will be revealed ,  And all  flesh  will see  it together ; For the mouth  of the LORD  has spoken .”   Isaiah 40:5 Dec. 1, 2022   Dear Friends and Family,                As I look over my Christmas address list at all of your names, your beautiful faces come to mind and I thank God for the special times we have had together in the past.  Remembering how God related to Adam and Eve in the garden each evening, I think He loves it when we relate to each other in love and kindness.  So, here I go, relating to you about another year in the Wallen family. Our lake house in Alpena, MI, is almost finished.  We enjoyed a wonderful summer there with some of our children and grandchildren.
