The Final Turn

We rounded the final turn and are racing down the homestretch! Moving day began with Tony getting in at midnight and Dad following close behind at 2:00 a.m. After a few hours of sleep and a nice hot shower, Dad scoped out the UHaul and house. With a scratch of the head and a set jaw, Dad proceeded in his usual packing mood that we know so well.

Bring it on! Who thinks we can fit it all in?

Out the front door

Along the sidewalk

Up the ramp

Dad, “How big is that?” David, “4 ft.” Tony, “4 ½ ft.” Mr. Troxel, “4 ¾ ft.”

Hustle! Lets move it!

Careful with the piano!

When do we get in?

It only took about 5 hours to unload the house and load up the truck. Without our wonderful friends we wouldn’t have been able to do it.

Ruthie Shipp, Ms. Shipp, and Annie Shipp brought a wonderful pot of chili and fixins for lunch!

Hannah Heinz and Tori Pine helped in any way possible!

You sure you want to take that?

How many guys does it take to pack a U-Haul?

Mr. Heinz was our wonderful hauler!

Laurene was our amazing Jade helper!

Coffee break

Lemonade break

Mr. Pine was instructing Grant and Dylan Pine and Micah how to take apart a bunk bed.

There's that scratch of the head

Lunch time!!!

Quick nap

We'll take it. How much?

Another short break

What's left? Oh, the attic, shed, crawl space, and barn. Hmm.

You did it again, Dad!

We're off!

Our movers hitching a ride!

The Heinz's

The Pines

Chevy, like a rock!

Built Ford Tough!

Dad left with the truck at about 3:00 p.m. and headed off with a full load. We finished emptying the house as much as we could and stuffed the green truck, Tony’s car, and the van. We headed out at about 6:00 p.m. Roberto met Dad at the house and started to unload while Mom headed with the van to Katie’s house, and the boys left in the others cars to help unload the trucks at the new house. Sunday we will finish the moving process!
