Tuesday, Feb. 24th

Today we docked in Mazatlan early in the morning and headed out for another shore excursion, this time to the Sierra Madres. When we lived in Mexico, we did a lot of work in some mountain villages, so we wanted to return to the area. We stopped at one town of which I cannot remember the name and took pictures of an old church built in the 1760's. It was a good-size town not far outside of Mazatlan.

Next we went off the main road up higher into the mountains to an older, quaint village of Copala. The church in this town was also built in the 1760's, but was a little less ornate. Notice the stonework used in the construction.

I just got caught up on your cruise. Thanks for sharing your experience with us when you are able. Oh yeah...and soak up some sun for me...it snowed her in MN today.
